Soil Amendments

For the past eight years, we’ve worked closely with vineyard growers to incorporate biochar into our compost. Biochar is a carbon-rich material that enhances soil structure, improves water retention, and supports microbial activity. When blended with compost, it increases nutrient availability and serves as a long-term carbon source, helping build healthier, more resilient soils. This product is available in limited quantities due to sourcing and production constraints.

Gypsum is a naturally occurring mineral made of calcium sulfate, used as a soil amendment to improve structure and drainage. We provide California growers with both organic and non-organic gypsum options. For organic use, our mined gypsum is sourced locally, while our recycled gypsum is produced from Sheetrock and is available for non-organic fields. Gypsum helps break up compacted soil, enhances water infiltration, and supports better overall soil structure.

Lime is a natural soil amendment made from ground limestone, primarily composed of calcium carbonate or calcium-magnesium carbonate. We offer both organic and non-organic lime to California’s growers, helping to raise soil pH, improve structure in heavy soils, enhance water penetration, and provide essential calcium for crops. Lime application supports healthier root systems and better nutrient uptake.
